ELICOS only grants over fourteen times higher
The Independent ELICOS sector grants were over fourteen times higher in June 2022 compared with June 2021, with 2,710 more ELICOS only visas granted.
Offshore grants for Independent ELICOS were up by 2,744 in June 2022, or forty-nine times higher, compared to June 2021. Onshore grants for Independent ELICOS were down by 25.95% or 34 fewer grants.
Visas granted to Chinese citizens for ELICOS-only students for June YTD are up by 9 visas granted, or 300% in June 2022 compared with June 2021. Visas granted to citizens from Brazil were over fifty-nine times higher in June 2022 compared with June 2021, or 595 more grants. Grants for citizens from Chile were over fourteen times higher for the same comparison period, grants for Japanese citizens were over twenty-two times higher, while they were over six times higher for Thailand citizens, and up for South Korean students by 271.43%.
ELICOS only lodgements over nineteen times higher
There were 44,9718 total visas lodged in June 2022, with 5,371 of those being for Independent ELICOS students. Visa lodgements for June 2022 were up by 267.82% across all sectors, or 32,706 more lodgements, compared to June 2021. The total number of Independent ELICOS visa applications lodged for YTD June 30th was over nineteen times higher than June 2021.
Top Nationalities Granted and Lodged
The top source country for ELICOS only lodgements is still Colombia, with 7,484 lodgements made in June 2022. The top source country for grants in June 2022 however is Brazil, with 3,231 applications granted. Grants and lodgements were still strong in June 2022 for the top three source countries of Colombia, Thailand and Brazil, with a total of 18,801 visas lodged and 9,285 granted from citizens of these countries.
