National ELICOS commencements for YTD July 2022 increased by over 50% versus July 2021. Enrolments increased by 7.5%.

ELICOS only grants highest to date
ELICOS only visas granted in July 2022 are the highest to date. At 5,531 granted, it is 42% higher than the previous strongest ever month, which was July 2019. This is truly impressive, as 787 of the 3,893 grants made in July 2019 were for onshore students, while in July 2022 only 90 applications came from onshore.
ELICOS only lodgements over twenty times higher
Lodgements have risen considerably, with ELICOS only visa lodgements in July 2022 over twenty times higher than in July 2021, with 4,979 total lodgements.
Top Nationalities Granted and Lodged
The top source country for ELICOS only lodgements is still Colombia, with 1,347 lodgements made in July 2022. The top source country for grants in July 2022 is Columbia again, with 2,019 applications granted.
The top three nationalities for visas granted are Colombia, Brazil, and Japan, with a combined total of 3,551 visas granted in July 2022.
The top three nationalities for visas lodged are Colombia, Thailand, and Brazil, with a combined total of 3,209 visas lodged in July 2022.
