Nominations are now open for the four vacant General Appointee positions on the English Australia Board.
Each year, staff at English Australia member colleges can consider nominating for positions on the Board. English Australia Member Colleges (Full Members) may nominate any persons who are owners or employees of English Australia Member Colleges (Full Members).
Current General Appointees whose two-year term expires may also nominate for the positions. Current Board members with terms expiring are:
- Ian Aird
- Aparna Jacob
- Steve Knussen
- Sally Waite.
How do I nominate?
English Australia Full Member Colleges may nominate individuals by using the below nomination form.
We ask that nominees provide a Candidate Statement with information about themselves. Nominees must include the name of their institution to indicate if any other representative from their institution is currently a Board member and is not stepping down. The information provided should include relevant industry and/or Board experience, as well as the specific skills that will make you an effective Board member. You will also be required to complete a Board Skills Assessment ranking your knowledge of particular aspects of the industry.

All nominations must be seconded and must be accepted by the nominee. If you experience any issues completing the form, please contact the Secretariat.
All completed nomination forms can be returned to the English Australia Secretariat at easec@englishaustralia.com.au
When do nominations close?
Please note, the deadline for nominations is Thursday 8 September 2022 at 5:00 pm AEST.
What happens after nominations close?
If the number of candidates so nominated exceeds the number of vacancies, a ballot will be taken.
If we cannot fill all of the vacancies through this process then nominations for the positions, with the consent of the nominee, may be made orally by a Full Member and seconded by a Full Member at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). If the number of candidates so nominated equals the number of vacancies, the candidates shall be declared elected.
Once the general delegate positions are filled, we will call for nominations for the vacant State/Territory positions.
