ELICOS only grants over twenty-five times higher
Independent ELICOS grants were over twenty-five times higher in September 2022 compared with September 2021, with 4,799 more ELICOS-only visas granted.

Offshore grants for Independent ELICOS were up by 4,789 in September 2022, or almost forty-three times higher, compared to September 2021. Onshore grants for Independent ELICOS were up by over 13%, with 10 more grants.

ELICOS only visas granted to citizens from Colombia were up 436 times higher in September 2022 compared to September 2021, with 2,180 more grants. Brazil was up over 122 times higher year on year with 737 more grants, while grants to citizens from Chile were over twelve times higher or 74 more grants, and grants were over 44% higher for Chinese citizens. Visas granted to ELICOS students from Thailand were almost eleven times higher for the same comparison period.

ELICOS only visa lodgements remain high, with almost sixteen times more lodgements made in September 2022 YTD, with 5,131 total lodgements.

Top Nationalities Granted and Lodged
The top source country for ELICOS only lodgements is still Colombia, with 1,679 lodgements made in September 2022. The top source country for grants in September 2022 is Columbia again, with 2,185 applications granted.

The top three nationalities for visas granted are again Colombia, Brazil, and Thailand, with a combined total of 4,012 visas granted in September 2022. The top three nationalities for visas lodged are also Colombia, Brazil, and Thailand with a combined total of 3,407 visas lodged in September 2022.

However, grant rates in September 2022 for Thailand were only 66.3%, indicating that the Thailand figures should again be even higher. Grant rates for other top source countries for September 2022 were 88.3% or higher.
