Ed Tech SIG

The Ed-Tech SIG brings together ELT professionals from English Australia member institutions to explore, share and advance the effective use of educational technologies in English language teaching. The group promotes innovation and best practice by building expertise, sharing research and resources, and fostering a collaborative community focused on enhancing language learning and teaching through technology.
 

The Ed-Tech SIG is open to all ELT professionals within English Australia member institutions. The SIG aims to discuss and promote the adoption of new innovative technologies within the classroom in order to advance traditional methods of English language training. As the industry evolves the SIG seeks to share ideas and best practices in incorporating technologically-advanced techniques into the day to day classroom environment.

Aims of the group

  • To raise awareness amongst ELT professionals within English Australia member colleges of the role that educational technologies play in language learning
  • To build expertise in the use of educational technology in language learning and teaching
  • To further the field of educational technology in language learning through shared research, resourcing, knowledge and expertise in the area
  • To promote excellence and best practice in language learning and teaching
  • To effectively contribute to the knowledge base regarding the role that ed-tech plays in language teaching and learning
  • To foster a sense of community and collaboration, both online and face-to-face, amongst SIG members and member colleges
